Purpose of the PTC
The purpose of the Sacred Heart PTC is:
- to support the Administration and faculty of Sacred Heart,
- to inform parents of activities and policies, and
- to provide financial assistance through fund-raisers for school projects.
The PTC is not a policy-making organization; it exists to provide support. The Sacred Heart School Board makes the policy. The PTC works in cooperation with the Sacred Heart Pastor, the Board, and the Administration.
Responsibilities of the Athletic Booster Club
The club agrees to the following responsibilities:
- maintain and purchase all equipment and supplies, including uniforms, for sports in the high school and elementary departments
- purchase tennis balls, baseballs, footballs, softballs, basketballs, and golf balls
- buy and maintain weight room equipment
- purchase sports drinks for athletes
- pay tournament entry fees for tennis, golf, cross-country, baseball, softball, and swim team activities during the school year.
- pay referees and umpires for athletic events
- purchase and maintain scoreboards
- purchase food, supplies, portable cooking equipment and utensils for the operation of the concession stand. Non-removable appliances and equipment are considered part of the building and are maintained by the school.
- provide coaches’ salary supplements and bonuses based on performance according to the current adopted Club bonus schedule
- pay membership dues for athletic and coaching associations
- pay the phone bill for the Athletic Director’s office
- purchase film and videotape for athletic department
- purchase computer software for the coaches as approved
- maintain the following areas (including grass, fertilizer, dirt, and sand):
- football field to include light bulbs for the football field fixtures
- practice field
- baseball field
- softball field
- maintain all athletic associated structures (bleachers, press box, ticket booth, concession stands, old field houses, and dugouts). This only includes the labor if the Boosters are able to perform the job. This excludes the football field light poles and fixtures, fences, and gym.
- maintain fences that encompass the baseball and softball fields. This does not include any of the other fences on the school property.
- contribute annually to the fund specified for the purchase of a new Trojan bus according to the current approved formula for contributions.
- maintain the bus (fuel and general routine maintenance) for all athletic events. Any major maintenance expenses will be paid from the Non-athletic Activity Bus Fund (established in December 1998) and/or by the school. If any other non-athletic school program or class uses the bus, it will be charged $2.00 per mile round trip to be paid into the Non-athletic Activity Bus Fund which will be reserved for major repairs. The cost per mile is subject to change based on changes made by the Evangeline Parish School buses. If Sacred Heart athletes have an event on the same day as a non-athletic Sacred Heart program, the athletic team always has preference.
- fund expenses for Sacred Heart School athletic tournaments. The Booster Club will pay for janitorial clean up during and after tournaments that it sponsors. Coach’s Holiday Tournaments sponsored by the coaches will fund all expenses of those tournaments.
- clean up in and around concession stands after athletic events.
- arrange for and purchase football programs.
- pay expenses of and conduct fund-raisers.
- reimburse the school for mail-outs and postage expenses of the Club.
- fund expenses of Booster Club suppers.
- buy athletic jackets and one Sacred Heart High School patch for qualifying athletes. The individual athletes pay for all other patches.
